What is the procedure?

The procedure of the paleo profile test is just similar to any other blood test. The procedure as follows:

For the blood test:

  • The blood collection is typically done by a phlebotomist in the morning, before having breakfast.
  • This can be done either in the clinic or in your home. Thyrocare laboratory gives you the facility of sample collection from your home.
  • To collect the blood from your hand, the phlebotomist will first clean the area where blood will be collected with a cotton swab.
  • Then will put a thin needle into that particular area to draw the blood. After collecting, the sample will be stored in a specified specimen container. And then the specimen will be sent to the laboratory for the examination.

For the urinogram:

  • For the urinogram, a urine sample of yours will be collected. The urine sample is collected over the time of 24 hours. You will be given a specified container by the laboratory to collect the urine.
  • In the morning you will need to free your bladder by urinating. Then over the period of 24 hours, you need to collect the urine into that container, and the container should be kept in the refrigerator. And then the urine sample will be sent to the diagnostic center for testing.

What will be the result interpretation?

The test report will be provided by distinct reference ranges, and all these reference ranges usually differ from labs to labs. If you get abnormal results in any one or multiple components, then it generally indicates certain diseases. However, consult with your doctor for further assistance.
